Wordless Wednesday - beautiful desk

Share in the comments - does this kind of work environment make you do the happy dance, or is it too minimalistic?

I love it! But mine is a LOT more colourful and happy.

I like clean and organized, but that's just too bare. There is no personality at all.

In my perfect world? I would lose the phone and the two stacks of paper... oh, and get a wireless desktop... the wires are distracting.

Technology today being what it is, phone calls can be easily made online or with a headset removing the need for a phone on the desk.

I would add a pen cup and tuck the PC under the desk. I would paint the walls a pretty green and add an inspirational phrase or poster.

But this isnt my perfect world and my desk is littered with electronics that I constantly rearrange, file holders full of action and file items, stacks of projects in progress and lots and lots of scrapbook stuff.

Oh! And even though I have a great system set up, my husband, who gets the kids off to school in the morning and who swears he uses the system, leaves piles on my desk and on the kitchen counter and magneted to the fridge. I HATE IT! I come home for lunch and walk right into chaos.

Ok, calming down.... sorry. I get worked up. I like things just so... and it bugs me to no end when someone is too lazy to walk a foot to throw something away or stick it in it's basket. Similarly, and I know I am on a tangent now, why can dishes get walked to the sink or the counter, but not put in the dishwasher? Why can clothes get put on the floor in the bathroom but not in the hamper? Why? AARRUUGHH!

I like a simple and uncluttered look, but this is a little much! I like a nice looking pen holder to hold scissors, a pencil and different colored pens. I also like some sort of a paper tray for separating different sections of papers. Like this: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/394891/Office-Depot-Brand-Wire-Stacking-Side/

I love how clean the desk is...but I'd go crazy with such bare un-decorated walls that look like they could use a fresh coat of paint.

I actually think that the thought of this desk is one of my biggest obstacles in decluttering. The fear of being so boring, creatively stifling, stale, unimaginitive, plain, etc. is enough to keep me buried in my clutter. Yet I've errored so far on the side of NOT neat, that looking around at all my clutter/chaos stifles not only my creativity but my energy as well. What a freeing revelation... Hmmmmmm...

I love the unclutteredness of it, but I would personalize it some.

I should have mentioned...this is a guy's desk :)

Hence the lack of personality.

This is at work so there is no chance of painting walls and so on, although pictures are very welcome.

I'll post mine next week!

Way too sparse for me. It seems cold.

I like simple but this is too minimalistic for my taste. While I'm not quite happy with my desk clutter, I could never lose some of the personal touches like my colorful pen/pencil holder, my photo mouse pad, a small bottle fo lotion, etc... Guess I'm just destined to be cluttered. lol

I'd need some pretty things on the wall to look at. The artistic side of me needs inspiration.
And maybe a plant. :)

Wow! I've seen desks like this in magazines but didn't know some one could actually have one.

I hate to be a party pooper, but it kind of reminds me of a hospital room. I am way more about color, personality and surrounding myself with things that make me happy... photographs, my kids art work, beautifully organized office products... etc., you get the picture.

Because you spend so much time in your workspace, it should make you happy and you should feel happy being there...

If this kind of space makes someone happy... then it's all good!

I love a clean desk, but this looks like it's office space that is being used by someone who is just visiting. Blah. I always have a cozy lamp and a small teapot along with a NICE china teacup and saucer on my desk -- besides the necessary items you need. :-) Might not be everyone's cup of tea (pun intended) but everyone agreed my cubical always looked cozy and inviting. :-) AND NEAT. :-)

Oh and definitely need something on the walls. I'd go crazy staring all day at blank walls. :-)

I'm looking forward to the show me your desk challenge because I love seeing people's workspaces. :-)

Hi,

Very minimalistic desk, love it, but same time it needs more colors in my opinion...here is a pic of my desk :) http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_Ce_1DK-qjjk/SQmJCdDr62I/AAAAAAAAAA0/DEYCuNjjtPQ/s1600-h/HPIM4212.JPG
