Today I'm decluttering...tasks and delegating them to my VA

Please encourage all your blog friends to join us in decluttering and choosing to live a simpler life by using the button on your sidebar. Christmas is just around the corner and you need to start taking action so that you don't just fill up all the spaces you've already decluttered.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week I decluttered this vertical organiser on my desk and then... of much more importance...
I decluttered some tasks and delegated to my virtual assistant (VA).
I'm quite fussy about doing certain things my way (!) but I think I've been indoctrinated by Melanie Benson Strick because I'm delegating more and more, easier and easier.
I still cringe sometimes thinking, "I can't believe I'm doing this" but I'm following my own rules (if someone can do it at 70 - 80% as good as you can, then you should delegate) and I did it!
Which means I had time last night to have supper with an old friend - yes, thanks, we had a wonderful time catching up.
What do you need to let go of?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Please link to the post on your blog where you show off your pictures or talk about the declutter. Or if you don't have a blog, tell me in the comments about ANYTHING you got rid of this week.

It can be anything - physical, electronic, mental clutter or even the need to be a certain way. Like perfectionism! :)

What did you declutter this week?

I de-junked the junk drawer this morning. That feels better.

wow, great job delegating! Tasks like those are sometimes the hardest things to let go of. I always think, it'll be faster and easier if I just do it myself but then I end up getting bogged down with all these little things. I'm glad you were able to make more time for yourself (and your friends).

I'm learning to delegate more, also, but not only do the tasks not get done as well as I do them, sometimes the person I'm delegating to doesn't do the task at all. That's for tasks around the house. At work, there isn't much to delegate, but I am taking advantage where I can. Thanks for keeping us motivated.

Hi Marcia,
I am just getting to this email so you can tell I am a few days behind there. I did do a big decluttering project today though. I cleaned off the kitchen/bar counter and the computer desk and office supply cabinet and all the stuff that was piled on the floor in between.I got rid of two huge bags of trash. I also watched (for moral support) my boyfriend clean off his clothes shelves. He got rid of one garbage bag of shorts. So the house is a lot less "trash heavy" this week! HA! I did also unclutter my coupon box earlier this week too.

I did it! My desk is officially DECLUTTERED! I even organized my file cart. Still have a ways to go to get the whole office decluttered and organized... but I feel well on my way! Thank you so much for the inspiration to begin!

Wow Marcia! I'm so impressed with all the great changes on your blog. I love your Mr. Linky...maybe someday I'll figure out how to do that! :) We poor Typepad users don't have such great commenting tools...but someday...it will come. we are the last to get all the great features!

Congrats to you on your VA!!! What kinds of tasks are you delegating? I would love to find someone to deal with getting my book on Amazon for me. If you know a resource for that would love to hear it!
