Since I was about 6 - 7 weeks' pregnant, I have had NO energy whatsoever.
Which is bad because I'm used to being really productive but it's also good because I know that when I do have a sudden burst of energy, I need to focus and get whatever done.
I decided to sort out the fridge on one of those occasions and thought I'd time myself to see exactly how long it took, so you'd see it's not that overwhelming.
Main section - before
- grotty carrots were thrown away- everything was put back in its section
- I also moved some things to smaller containers
- I moved food that we have to eat so that it's clearly visible
Fridge door - before
Fridge door - after
- threw away expired medicine- moved all the spreads to the correct shelf
- moved bigger bottles of water to the door
By the way, the whole organising project took me just 8 minutes.
How often do you have to organise your fridge?

Hey! Hey! Wait a minute...You're pregnant?!? YEAH!!!!! When are you due? Congratulations.
MTM, I am indeed! Thanks so much – oh, my official due date is 2 Sept but since twins are considered full-term at 37 weeks, that will be 12 August.
First off congrats on being pregnant!!!!!!!!!
Marcia I think our problem is that we always overestimate the time it will take to do an orgnaizing task. I have done that so many times. But when I dig in and really concentrate I find it goes by so fast and I am asking myself why didnt I do this sooner????
Take care
My trash pickup is Friday, so every Thursday night we have a leftover banquet for dinner, whatever remains is thrown out and I take that opportunity to reorganize the fridge. I actually pull everything out and do a detail cleaning once a season. This is one area that is not a huge obstacle for me (probably the only one!)
Congratulations!!! That is so exciting! Fridge here gets cleaned out a lot!!!
I had a boyfriend that cleaned the fridge every day! There was never anything out of place.
I took on a few of those habits and I evaluate all food products a few times a week. I clean the fridge shelves twice a year (take every thing out, hot soapy water, etc) but I spot clean fairly often.
This is another task that I do pretty well. It's also real easy being that their is just two of us in the house.
I think you should conserve your energy (when you have it) and let your body use it on those babies. Once they are born, your energy will return and your home definitely will never be the same. You can clean then. For now just grow those babies!
Off my soapbox now. Back to your regular organizing programming.
Wow! Congratulations! And twins! I can't imagine having time to organize if there were twins around but maybe that's just me.
We have a small fridge so we don't have much room to store extra food very long.
Diane, you are SO right. It's always worst in our minds, isn't it?
LOL Trust me, Anne, they MAKE me rest – the energy bursts are VERY small windows of time.
Thank God for my cleaning lady on Saturdays.
Thanks for the good wishes, everyone!
Congratulations on your great news. And the fridge looks terrific.
