What's no. 1 on your to-do list?

I never could understand how it was that some women didn't take care of themselves.

Until now.

Because now I've had babies it is a different ball game altogether!

I didn't notice while I was still in the hospital because they wake you so early with coffee/ tea but the day after I was discharged, I realised something is a bit off...what is it???

Oh my word! I'm not hungry.

And that's how it started.

After a few days of being at home, I realised that I wasn't eating breakfast until HOURS after I'd woken. When I was pregnant, I'd wake and literally have to eat something within minutes because I woke up starving.

Not so anymore.

I also realised I'd just grab the first thing available (some biscuits (cookies) or rusks with my tea) which is not good!

at least I'm eating lunch - yum!

Good thing I had the awareness before it got even more out of hand. I decided I had to do something about it because I have to take care of me first before I can take care of the babies.

So now when I do my to-do list every day, my no. 1 item is Eat Breakfast.

What's no. 1 on your to-do list?

The first thing I do in the morning is get myself a big glass of water and chug it down. I feel so much better afterward and I am only 7 glasses away from my goal :)

First thing on my list (after the bathroom) is to get the girls out of bed and outside doing the gardening and barn chores BEFORE the day gets hot! Of course this is not true in the winter - but then the goal is to get their schooling (we homeschool) started at a reasonabl hour and all other chores and goals rotate around that one.

First thing on my list is to follow my routine. With my kids at school now I can take my time and have breakfast when they're gone, and now in the middle of winter a 9am breakfast in the sun on the back patio with a magazine or my plan for the day is so much more enticing than throwing down whatever I can find in the dark at 6:30am before I wake the kids and start yelling at them to do their jobs.

You are so right about needing to eat so you can take care of the babies!!! I noticed I get up a 5 am and was not eating until 8:30!!! This crashes my blood sugar which needs stimulated as soon as I get up. A nurse friend told me to eat a graham cracker and peanut butter before I go to bed to stabalize the blood sugar and to ward off my every morning headaches, (it works!!!) I also eat one within 30 mins of being up. I also make several and carry with me to get me throught the day or places I don't have food.

This is my new goal also!!! Good luck with your new #1 priority!!!
