You know how, when you travel, things aren't the same as at home???
Well, this is what I did to create some order when we were in Ireland.
I hung a plastic bag on the key to create a wastepaper basket and used this lightweight travel backpack for my socks and underwear.

I make sure to create a packing list. That's huge for me. And When we are road-tripping, I have a "car" bag and a "destination" bag. In the car is all about comfort, entertainment, quick cleanup, emergencies, snacks, etc. I can leave the cute dress and sandals for when I get where I'm going.
