Tackling the baking pan mess

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

I love baking (because of the eating!) but one thing I don't love is the mess. I found a way to combat the messy flour and cut down my baking time.

The one thing I had no ideas about until recently was the Baking Pan Mess. That is, until I did a virtual organising session recently and my client mentioned these containers. I LOVE THEM.

This is an aerial view...

and this is what it looks like in the cupboard!

They contain the odd-shaped pans and this thing is so easy to pull in and out of the cupboard (like a drawer).

If you're in South Africa, you can get them at Game, Dion or Pick & Pay. This one used to keep my extra toiletries until I decided to re-use it like this.

Check how Tertia uses them to organise her kids. It is too cute!

How do you contain your baking pans?

It doesn't matter how many times I organise my baking cupboard, it is always the one that everything falls out when the door is opened! One of these containers may be the answer...thanks, Marcia!

BTW, long time, no comment (on my part) but I have been reading :)

Tina, I can tell you I KNOW exactly how you feel about that baking pan mess!

That was me until I did this on the weekend. I open the cupboard and just gaze at how neat it is now :)

Wow! Great idea! That will be added to my Tackle list. I love container organizing!

I don't think my baking pans would stand up like that and still fit under the shelf in the cupboard. We have poorly designed 70's cabinets. :(

Any ideas for Karen, anyone?

Karen, I have to see the shelves/ cabinets to be more helpful! I'm very visual :)

That's a great idea! I've done the same with smaller bins to hold odd shaped kitchen utensils such as funnels.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love the pre-measuring approach! It's so obvious (although it had never occurred to me) and so brilliant. I always make twice as much for dinner so I can freeze it, but I never thought to measure baking ingredients in advance.

This is a great idea! I don't think we have room either in the kitchen but I might use this in our garage to hold the cake pans that I don't use on a regular basis. Your site is great!

Good idea. I use this type of thing for toys too.
