Fall Y'all bloggy giveaway - a virtual organising session

This giveaway is now closed!

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Do you know what a virtual organising session is?

  1. You book and pay for the session.
  2. I email you for times suitable for both of us.
  3. You take photos of the area you need help with and after compressing, email them to me.
  4. On the session, we Skype (if you have a headset and microphone) or chat online in my chat room.
  5. We talk through the area, you take notes and I send you any pictures if we agree to that on the phone/ in chat room.
  6. And it's as easy as that!

Why I love them

  • Organising in your pyjamas
  • No make-up and cute clothes needed
  • No travelling time (Joburg traffic is awful). You won't believe how many emails I get (from the blog) where people say, I wish you lived here in ________.
  • Cheap and affordable for you!

Now you get a chance to win a session with me. Because of its nature, you can be anywhere in the world and I can still help you organise your space or time.

A half-hour session usually retails for R150.00 (US$21) in my store.

Here are my rules

  1. If you want to win this session, you have to tell me your most burning organising question. Any question about space, time, your business or your life. I'll answer them on the blog or in articles.

  2. I am not going to search around your blog to find an email address because I don't have time so please leave your email in your comment. Or go check the box in your blogger profile to show your email.

  3. The competition closes on Friday 2nd Nov, 12pm South African time.

  4. I will post the winner next Monday because I am on holiday.

  5. The competition is open to bloggers and non-bloggers alike!
Have fun and all the best.

More organising and other goodies here...

Sounds great! I've finally installed a new desk and work area. Since I work from home this is a critical area for me, but I want to make sure it is effectively organized for the long term. I'd love help with that.

I can't decide if my most burning question is how to organize my closet or my daughter's!! They are both a mess :)

How do I organize our library? We have 14 bookcases, all double-stacked, and it's a mess! I think my husband buys books we already have because he's forgotten what we do have...help!

I'm not sure if I am ready for this, but if I win I will take it as a sign from the powers that be. I am a mom of four and I am horrible with papers. Any kind of papers - mail, school papers, newspapers, coupons, if it is made of paper, it is a mess in my house. My downfall is horizontal surfaces - my desk overflows to the top of the filing cabinet which eventually overflows to the kitchen counter and sometimes the table. Eventually I get frustrated and toss it all in a box. I have several boxes full of papers that have overflowed from my desk. I spend so much time looking for things, it makes me crazy. So my problem is how do I organize all these papers and mail for six people and try to keep them in my desk area and out of our living areas.

My biggest organizing problem right now is how to deal with the mess of clutter and papers that my kids bring home from school, plus mail, catalogs - it seems like my counters are always full of paper of some sort... Thanks! :)

The kitchen counter in my house just can NOT stay clean. Well, okay, most of my house just can not stay clean LOL! But the kitchen is soemthing everyone who comes over can see. Some papers I need here and drawer space is not an option .. so how can one have papers in the kitchen without it looking like, well, a pile of papers LOL!
Thanks so much! =)

Our house doesn't have a basement, just a smallish utility room which must house the washer and dryer, an extra fridge, cleaning implements, the litter box, workbench and anything else we don't want to store in a crawl space. Unfortunately, it is in the back of the house, so it doesn't make a very good mudroom--because I could use one. Luckily, it's virtually a blank slate.

This is a terrific giveaway idea. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

My organizing question is- how does a mom of three, who has cancer and health problems, become good at organzing despite her Adult ADD? Tough one I know but one I battle constantly. WANT to organize, exhausted all the time, start something and never finish. I just want to get things done for once.

Great giveaway! I'd love to get some help with my organization.

My question: How do I find space for all the necessary things when I live in a tiny apartment?

Please count me in! I'm doing a giveaway over at my place. Hope you stop by.

My most burning organizing question is how do you handle closets - we simply do not have enough closet space, and my husbands clothes end up in huge piles in our closet- partially because he lets them get like that. I don't know what do with them.

And I'd be thrilled to win your session. Thanks so much for offering.

Now just pick me and all will be great.

I could use the help with my craft room/office as I'm going back to work (I work pt from home) next month and the room's a mess! My burning question is about finding a balance of how much organising 'stuff' (containers, filing things, etc) is useful and how much is just MORE clutter!

I could so use your help! My husband and I are building our first house. We are trying to make enough closet space because I hate things just lying around. I have never been very organised before and I am trying to start fresh. So I have this huge walk in closet and I just don't know where to start. We haven't put up shelves or anything yet and I can't even seem to get it down on paper. HELP!!!

My burning question - how in the world does everyone keep up with the paperwork? DH and I shred any junk mail that comes in and file anything bank related (along with a few other items). We have a HUGE pile that we need to get to, but sometimes the stuff that comes in in one day, makes our house look TERRIBLE!

Kristin said...

What in the world do you do with a cement basement when you need the space for living?

Unknown said...

My question is somewhat general. I can be organized but I tend to not follow thru. What is the best way to really get in gear and keep myself from starting and not stopping or giving up

I liked your idea about pre-measuring baking ingredients so much, I just linked to it in a comment, here: http://www.colleenpetterson.com/2007/10/30/tack-it-tuesday/
Your contest looks cool -- what a great idea.

My biggest frustration is just trying to find homes for all the "stuff" that 8 people require and contain it neatly in about 2000sq.ft. We homeschool, which makes it feel like we can never get a break from the clutter.

My biggest organization problem is paper! I get overwhelmed with it and don't know what to do about it. Thank you!

I'm torn here too, but my "office" is the worst mess in the house at the moment so will go with that. How do you keep all the "extra" stuff accumulating there? Not just the bills to pay, but all the junk?
