I buy it in large quantities (between 12-20# at a time) and cook it all at once to avoid having to deal with the mess over and over. I will make two meatloaf and a bunch of hamburgers to go in the oven with some of the meat. The rest gets put in a big stock pot with some water to be cooked up. Once it is cooked I drain the water out (separate the grease off and save the now broth for soup) divide the meat into meal sized amounts and freeze. When I want to make something with ground meat in it I can then skip the step of cooking it because its already done. Saves time and cleaning effort.
HTH KateKatehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12705286712178267451noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24978502.post-90685151794148164172007-08-16T05:39:00.000+02:002007-08-16T05:39:00.000+02:00WHat a great idea!WHat a great idea!Alexis Jacobshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06972149809628579689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24978502.post-41915730467305837142007-08-15T19:42:00.000+02:002007-08-15T19:42:00.000+02:00I love this idea! Maybe it's because I don't have a problem with touching raw meat or putting my fingers into several pounds of raw hamburger, mixing in the raw eggs and kneeding in the bread crumbs to make meat loaf. It actually gives me a great frustration release squishing all of the squishies pretending it's my hubby. :)

But the baggies over the hands is just too funny! :) Of course, you won't see me stick a naked hand into a sink full of icky water. Blahhhh.
